An Algonquin canoe trip is one of the most enjoyable ways of exploring some of Canada’s pristine wilderness. Algonquin Park allows you to getaway from it all and to relax on a warm rock overlooking a sparkling lake. While canoeing along rugged shorelines and hiking down portage trails, you are bound to catch a sighting of Algonquin’s elusive moose. Though some of the portages can be challenging, at the end of the day you will feel a sense of accomplishment and will be rewarded with a great campsite and a breath taking view.

This trip will give you a taste of what Algonquin is all about. It’s a great experience for those who are going on a canoe trip for the first time and for those who have little time off from work and need to getaway for a while. Each day will be filled with canoeing, portaging, and having a great time. At the end of the day there will be time for swimming, fishing, or just relaxing on the lakeshore. Throughout the trip your guide will be teaching you the basics of canoeing, regaling you with stories of the park, and will be baking up a storm of tasty desserts after you’ve enjoyed a gourmet meal.

This trip is a great opportunity to extend a long weekend into an even longer weekend. You will be traveling deeper into Algonquin Park where there are fewer groups and greater chances of spotting wildlife. We try to customize the trip to meet each individuals needs. For the orienteering enthusiasts, sessions on navigation are available throughout the trip. For those who are curious about gourmet cooking in the woods, your guide will divulge our culinary secrets and will have you assist them in their outdoor kitchen.

6 Day Canoe Trip

The six-day trips are our classic Algonquin experience. During the trip you will have experienced all of what Algonquin has to offer; fantastic views, scenic portages, boundless wildlife, and a sense of timelessness. We really enjoy watching how people change throughout the trip. Everyone starts the trip as individuals. By the end of the trip they have joined together as a team; who look after each other and help each other out through difficult times. By the end of the trip you will have made some special friends whom you will always remember.

Arowhon Algonquin Adventures

Come join us on a 3, 4, or 6 day wilderness canoe trip and allow yourself a little indulgence by adding a stay at Arowhon Pines Resort to your trip package. The first night of your adventure will be held in the lap of luxury at Arowhon Pines Resort; the services, facilities, and gourmet food is outstanding!! After a fantastic breakfast, you will meet with your guide and prepare for your trip to explore Algonquin's lakes and waterways. At the end of the trip, you will then return to Arowhon's hospitality, serene view, and their hot showers! Minimum group size is 2 people.

Father & Son Escape (3 Days)

What better way to connect with your son, than to experience a wilderness canoe trip together. You will be helping each other out on the portage trails, paddling across lakes, and setting up camp. Leave all the hassles of trip logistics, food prep, cooking, and navigation to us. At the end of the day there will be loads of time for swimming, fishing, and exploring the area.

Deluxe Father & Son Escape (4 Days)

This package includes the 3 day father son canoe trip package as well as 1 night's stay at Arowhon Pines Resort. Your first night will be spent within Algonquin park, overlooking a peaceful lake listening to the loons calling and the crackle of a campfire. Each day will be filled with exploration of Algonquin Park's countless waterways, lakes, and historic portage trails. At the end of the trip, you will return to Arowhon Pines for a hot shower, a gourmet dinner, and enjoy your last evening in Algonquin Park on Arowhon's porch watching the sun set with a decadent treat from the dessert table.

Girl's Weekend (3 Days)

Its just the girls for this 3 day trip. You will be paddle your way through some of Algonquin park's fantastic wilderness with your guide. Canoeing instruction will be offer throughout the trip for those who need to brush up on some skills or who've never been in the stern seat! At the end of the day a campfire is a great way to get to know people and make some new life long friends.

Roughing It, Resorting It! Girls Weekend (4 Days)

This is the perfect blend of being in the outdoors and enjoying the luxuries of civilization. You will be starting the trip from the docks of Arowhon Pines Resort, located on the shores of Joe Lake in Algonquin Park. You will be spend 3 days exploring the pristine wilderness of Algonquin Park. Sampling fantastic food, freshly baked treats, and the sounds and sights of our Canadian wilderness. On your last day within paradise you will be returning to Arowhon Pines Resort for a hot shower, gourmet food, and the company of some great friends. Our reflexologist Kendra Platt will be on hand to offer reflexology treatments. Reflexology appointments need to be book at the time of booking you getaway. Half hour treatments are $30. 1 hour treatments $50.

Build your Own Adventure

If you have a group/family who would like to go on a canoe trip with just yourselves, there is a three-person minimum. For families we offer a 15% discount for every child who is 12 years old and under. The minimum age for a child that can go a trip is 8 years old. For the groups we offer a 15% discount off the total group’s rate if the group has 5 – 7 people within the group. Please indicate that you would like a custom trip at the time you are registering. If you are a group who wish to add accommodations at Arowhon Pines Resort to your trip package, there would be an additional charge of $296.40/person/night to the price of the trip.
