Trip Itinerary:

Day 1:  Key Marina Resort and Key River

Our day will start with a rendezvous at the Key Marina Resort, just south of Grundy Lake Provincial Park. We will then repack our personal items and the group camping equipment into the kayaks.  After which, we will enjoy a fresh picnic lunch and listen to a talk on camping etiquette.  Then we are off!  Paddling down the Key River which is a gentle and picturesque river with a mixture of marsh grasses and towering cliffs.  By the end of the day you will be camped on a beautiful island overlooking the gentle waves of Georgian Bay.

Day 2:  Outer Fox Islands here we come!

After enjoying a gourmet breakfast, and a gentle yoga practice on the rocks.  The group will break camp and repack the kayaks for our journey to the Outer Fox Islands.  We will be paddling past Dead Island, which is a sacred Ojibway burial ground for the local native tribe. Black bears have been spotted wandering the island.  Some say, they are guardians of those buried there.  Beyond is the Outer Fox Island chain containing hundreds of intimate channels and pools, waiting for your discovery. This will be home for the next couple of days.

Day 3:  Exploring the French River Delta (Day Trip)

Our basecamp is established and now its time to explore!  We're off to discover the hidden treasures of the French River Delta!  The French River area is rich with its history, geology, and its wildlife.  If you are an avid fisherman, this is the place for you.  During our lunch break, there will be opportunities to explore the shoreline, swim, fish, or to just relax.

Day 4: Day of the Open Bay

Time to break camp and move on.  We're off to the Churchill Islands.  Today is a relaxing day of paddling, and enjoying the sun.  You will feel like your paddling on the open ocean.  Riding over the gentle waves as the winds blow in.  Serenity and solitude can be found on these isolated and quiet islands.

Day 5: Homeward Bound

Now that you are seasoned explorers, it's time to go home.  Filled with memories that will last a lifetime.  From the Churchill Islands, we will paddle north back up to the mouth of the Key River and leave Georgian Bay behind.
